Haul of 23 medals
In total, Honiton gymnasts returned with an impressive haul of 23 medals: five golds, 11 silvers, and seven bronzes.

“These outstanding results are a demonstration of the transformative impact Honiton Gymnastics Club has on young athletes,” said James Reddy, board member and high-performance coach. “We help our gymnasts to achieve their potential, enabling them to excel against competitors from larger towns and cities throughout the South West. The national finals represent a significant opportunity for our gymnasts to shine and for Honiton Gymnastics Club to solidify its reputation as a breeding ground for exceptional talent.”

James also emphasised the club’s inclusive approach. He said: “We have a tremendous community at the club, with lots going on. We celebrate our competitive success, but are equally focused on providing participation opportunities for gymnasts in our recreational classes through activities including fun events at the gymnastics centre, organised by our Supporters’ Association; club competitions; holiday activity camps; workshops; and Christmas shows.”

This success builds upon a remarkable 2024 for Honiton Gymnastics Club, which saw Honiton Gymnastics Club produce national champions, international gold medals at the FISAC international in Italy, and the club’s first-ever England Squad selection for Sophie Sanders, Daisy Clayton, and Matilda Clayton, who won gold for England at the Caledonian Cup in Glasgow. The year culminated in a successful Christmas Show, attended by more than 1,000 people, including a sparkling Christmas market at the venue.
